A WISH

THE WORLD MIRROR / SHAKE HEARTS
18.9.2017

In the bus
On the way to your house
While looking at a burnt tree
At a body
When your body trembles
Because of a small pebble
Or a big one
On the way to your house
While you are staring at an amputated hand
The one I wish to be in its place

Poem Aref Hamza (I do not want anyone to save me, 2014).
Translation from Arabic Shurouk Hammoud, 2017.
